There’s nothing more important than teamwork, especially when it comes to building each other up as the Body of Christ. This week, we got a chance to REALLY work as a team, as we were working with a Junior Camp week that was at about half capacity. As a result, many of the campers were able to engage in one-on-one time with our Cabin Leaders and it showed through the kids’ joy and openness to us and to each other.
Our speakers this week, Matt and Kim Peters (from Saskatoon, SK) spoke about how authors often know the complete story of their novel/book before it’s even being written and we learned that that’s the same for us. God is the author of our life – even if we aren’t sure why things are happening the way they happen or why they aren’t happening, He does. God has a purpose and a plan for us all.
Our theme for this summer is “LIVING HOPE”. It comes from a passage in the Bible (1 Peter 1:3-4) that speaks both of God’s great love and His sacrifice for us, so that we may receive an inheritance far greater than anything we can accumulate on this earth. Our mission, this summer, is to foster this truth in the campers and to grow an excitement and anticipation for the plans the Lord has for our lives. Campers, thank-you for an awesome first week of the summer. Parents, thank-you for sending your kids to us for the week. May you all come to know the LIVING HOPE that is Jesus Christ.
