It was a smaller week, so we had lots of opportunities to get to know each other and to work together. This was put into practice in a few activities—one being the ‘You Gotta Be Yoking’ meal at the end of the week. It was a hilarious experience to be attached to other people and needing to work together to do the simple tasks of mealtime. We played fun games and tried new things this week: for some, this might have been the game of Bucketball, or a skill such as Riflery or Horsemanship. We also got to celebrate our ‘unbirthdays’ and received gifts at the Mad Hatter’s tea party.
Chapel time was definitely a highlight as well. Josh Knowles, our speaker for the week, took us through different areas of the Bible and showed us stories of people who had a living hope. Personally, we also have this hope through Jesus. Living Hope is our theme for the summer and it comes from 1 Peter 1:3-4:
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade—kept in heaven for you.”
Good job to all the campers that memorized our theme verse! Thanks everyone for a great week and I hope to see you here next year!
Your program director,
Here are a few reenactment photos we did during a wide game from past camp pictures (can you spot the original?):
