Every summer I walk away from camp thinking that was THE best summer yet and I know that campers leave feeling the same way. Camp is an experience that we believe every child should have the opportunity to experience.
As a parent of three campers this year myself, I can tell you it can be tough find the resources to send our kids to camp. This year especially, many have been impacted by the slow down in the oil industry. You might be wondering if you can afford to send your kids to camp. HERE ARE SOME EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES FOR HELP:
1. Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charity – We have been partnering with Jumpstart for a few years. This year Brenda Robinson and I met at the Lloydminster Showcase and she told us to make sure people know that there is help available through jumpstart! We both agreed that there should be no financial reason kids don’t make it to camp this summer. You can find the application here ( CTJS Lloydminster Application Form 2015 1) or phone for more information.
2. Manitou Lake Bible Camp Sponsorships – Every year we have generous donors behind the scenes give money specifically for families that need help sending their kids to camp. Please contact our office if you would like more information or complete this application (MLBC Sponsorship Application Form).
3. Supporting Churches Programs – We have local churches behind us as a camp and if you are in the communities of Wainwright, Saskatoon, Neilburg/Marsden, or Lashburn, we have parnters there who are willing to help kids get to camp. Please contact our office and we can put you in touch with someone there.
If you still aren’t sure about whether or not you would qualify for any of these programs we would love to speak with you. We just want to make sure kids are able to get to camp. Call our office at 306-826-5440 or email back. Hope to see you this summer!
